Job description:

The Brain, Behavior, and Learning Lab ( directed by Jérôme Prado at the CNRS and University of Lyon, France, is currently looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on a cross-sectional research project examining the neural development of arithmetic skills. The project will involve collecting and analysing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data from a large sample of children and adolescents. The project is a collaboration with the Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Development directed by Dr. Catherine Thevenot at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland ( The postdoc will supervise research assistants and participate in all levels of the research investigation, including data collection, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. 
To qualify for the position, candidates must have (or soon obtain) a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive neuroscience or in a related area. Candidates should also have experience and interest in mathematical cognition and developmental cognitive neuroscience. Experience with testing children is desirable. Expertise in fMRI and computational skills are not required but are considered a plus. Finally, because the position involves testing and interacting with French-speaking children, candidates should have at least some knowledge of French. The salary will be in accordance with the CNRS guidelines for Postdoctoral fellows. The starting date is flexible, but will be no later than Fall 2019. 
The Brain, Behavior, and Learning Lab provides a stimulating research environment with many opportunities for collaboration on several other ongoing projects related to math learning, reasoning and educational neuroscience. The lab has extensive experience with recruiting and testing children from the Lyon area and has access to a research-dedicated 3T MRI scanner.


Appointments are made on an annual basis, with the ideal candidate interested in staying for at least 2 years.
